Portland, OR — Cadence Management Corporation President & CEO, John Patton and Don White, Professor of Industrial Engineering at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA will jointly present their paper titled, “Closing the Strategic Vision/Implementation Gap for Competitive Advantage.” The paper will be presented in the Future of Project Management Track on Tuesday, 8 October, 2002 at 8:00 AM at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, TX.
The paper is the result of two years of field research with company CEOs and strategic planning directors. Investigates the link between a strategic plan and projects that are in the current operating environment.
Cadence will also exhibit at Booth # 626 where ProjectMaster 3.5 software will be featured in 15 minute presentations every hour on the hour. The focus for ProjectMaster is project planning and communications to management and team members. At the end of each presentation, each attendee will receive a 30-day evaluation copy of ProjectMaster. About Dr. Don White: Dr. Don White is Professor of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo, CA. His education includes both engineering ( B.S.M.E. U.C. Berkeley and Ph.D. Systems Engineering Case Western Reserve University) and business (M.B.A. Pepperdine University). Dr. White’s has 19 years industry experience (both engineering and management) with: Pacific Telesis, ARCO, Exxon, Bell Labs, and Lawrence National Labs (strategic planning and implementation, project management, product development, marketing/manufacturing/financial operations). At Cal Poly, his research interests have included: new product development, integrated change management, economic decision making, strategic management, and project management.
