Adapting Microsoft Project to Cadence Scheduling
To configure the Task and Summary schedule bars:
- Pull down the Format Menu and click Bar Styles
- Click the Task cell in the Bar Styles window
- Click the Bars tab
- For Start Shape: select none
- For Middle Shape: select the thin line
- For Middle Pattern: select Black
- For Middle Color: select Green
- For End Shape: select the Triangle
- For End Type: select Framed
- For End Color: select Green
- Select the Summary cell in the Bar Styles window
- Click the Bars tab
- For Start Shape: select none
- For Middle Shape: select the thin line
- For Middle Pattern: select Black
- For Middle Color: select Green
- For End Shape: select the Triangle
- For End Type: select Framed
- For End Color: select Green
- Select the Progress cell in the Bar Styles window
- Click the bars tab
- For Start Shape: select none
- For Middle Shape: select the thin line
- For Middle Pattern: select Black
- For Middle Color: select Green
- For End Shape: select the Triangle
- For End Type: select Framed
- For End Color: select Green
- Select ok.
To configure the Project Timeline
- Position the cursor over the project timeline schedule bar. When it turns into a 4-headed arrow, right click. Select Format bar.
- For Middle Color: select black
- For End Color: select black
- Select ok.
To display the Assumptions column
- Select the Task Name header. Right click. Select Insert Column.
- Pull down the list under Field Name. Select Notes.
- Under Title, type in Assumptions
- Select ok.
