Portland, OR — PMI (Project Management Institute) has announced that John Patton, CEO and President of Cadence Management Corporation, has been appointed as Chair of the Certification Committee for the OPM3 (Organizational Project Management Maturity Model) product suite.

Developed under the stewardship of PMI, OPM3 enables organizations to improve their ability to achieve strategic goals through three interlocking elements – Knowledge, Assessment and Improvement. During the first meeting in Bangkok, Thailand in February 2006, John Patton stated, “The committee membership is outstanding at representing provider firms like Cadence, universities and corporations. We are working together to ensure that persons certified as assessors and consultants of OPM3 are qualified to perform the required on-going activities to maintain certification, and offer the program in a highly ethical and professional manner.” The OPM3 certification program is being administered by DNV Certification (Det Norske Veritas) under agreement with PMI.
